I was in Oak Ridge yesterday. It was a nice day to be out and about. My last guitar lesson was fun. We put on Black Mountan Rag to get the second guitar part and I discovered that I can now play all except about 4 measures at or faster than Doc Watson's recording.

Considering that when I started working on it last June, I could not hear all the notes at Doc's speed, I have come a long way.

I see that Mr. Possum has been outed.

I suppose he could deny that he is the "Terry Oglesby" who writes Possumblog but since there are only 28 Terry O's in the US and probably not another TO who resides in Trussville, Alabama, his chance of success with that tactic is not good.

I sometimes worry about someone I know discovering that I have this blog although I have told several friends about other blogs where my name shows up. I guess I am sufficiently uninteresting that they either haven't followed the link or else are too kind (or embarrassed) to mention they have read the drivel I write.

I am headed off to Oak Ridge in a few minutes to try to get some business up there.

I think winnning the lottery would be a better way to get the money to retire.

Did I ever mention that once upon a time when I was in the Army I got shot at? I was and I did! It was not a pleasant experience.

However, I now realize that it was a good thing because I can now speak with authority on military matters and you are not allowed to question me unless you have also been in the military and shot at ( I believe that you must have been shot at while in the military, but am not sure if it had to be in the course of a military mission).

Criticize my music opinions and anything else except military things and you are on solid ground.

Now if I could only think of something military to say other than in my opinion R.E. Lee was a complete dolt at Gettysburg.

I finished "Atlas Shrugged" late Saturday. My review: Read the Wickipedia entries and then scan the "John Galt" speech in the book and save yourself a lot of time.

Robert A. Heinlein she wasn't.
