I went for my guitar lesson today and almost washed away. I am not sure I have seen so much rain in Huntville for a while. Several places had deep standing water that I do not recall seeing flooded before.

Of course, we have a lot of new building going on and I'm not sure most of our developers understand the concept of warer flow control. I have a drainage problem at the house and it is all because the water runs off too fast. I have been doing things to slow it down such as building short berms and filling the backside with mulch, building walls to control and direct the flow and other water slowing things.

Our builders seem to think nothing of letting the water from a 40 acre parking lot flow toward a single drain at one corner hoping for the best I suppose.

Another proposal in the mail. One of these days I am going to win one of those things and I won't know what to do.

We expect to be notified on one proposal by this Friday. We pretty much have to have won a portion of it since we are the only small business to bid. I say "pretty much" because nothing has gone according to Hoyle so far.

I need to check around to find a Church that thinks yard sales are sinful. Our Church has a yard sale every spring to raise money for our never ending building fund (the building has a distinct end, it's the fund that continues) and for the youth mission trip. For some reason, I end up working the whole day and it is getting harder to do. My legs were killing me Saturday night.

Fortunately, for the second week in a row, Sunday was overcast and rainy so I didn't have to work in the yard. I practiced guitar and generally goofed off. Oh, I did clean some gutters but that didn't take too long.

I consider myself lucky to avoid a Terry Oglesby weekend.
