I went home sick yesterday and my Thursday night music session has been cancelled because the garage owner is sick.

Another month gone. I suppose it's time for a retirement planning update. Well, with the market going up and having won enough money in the Tennessee lottery to pay for my last ticket, I seem to have enough to either buy lunch today or a bag of glucose when I'm 80. I think I'll go for lunch.
Cancel lunch! I just noticed that the market appears to be headed south today. I hope I win some more contracts soon.
We bid on one in Iraq. We posted on a specialized website for resumes and got about twenty for five openings. I told my fellow proposal writer that I have just figured out that I was never crazy enough to be in the Army although I was for 32 years. I never volunteered after my first attempt during my second week in the Army when I volunteered to go to Vietnam. You are so much better off just doing what the system say and going where it sends you. Volunteering just leads to problems for everyone.
What brought that on was getting a bunch of resumes from people who are eager to go a warzone.
If the Army recalled me, I wouldn't argue but volunteer? I don't think so!

Don Knotts died this weekend. IMHO, he was one of the greatest comedians ever. Every Mayberry fan also knows he couldn't sing except for the times when he could. In the early episodes Andy was much more comedic, spoke in a real fake southern accent (a southerner faking a southern accent is plain wrong). Knotts was so much the comic that Andy switched to being the real solid guy we came to love.
I have always thought there should be a "Barney Fife" award for the dumb cop trick of the year. It would only be given for dumb tricks where no one got hurt since Barney never hurt anyone except the fans who were afflicted by Warren when he left to take the job in Raleigh.
Well, we finally won a competitive contract. It's not very big, but it is our first and it feels really good.
A couple more and I might just stay in this business.
