Since the Alabama Legislature is voting official state things, I suggest we push for an official Blog and I propose our beloved Possumblog. I'm not real sure how one goes about doing this, but I suppose I could kick in a couple of bucks to pay off the first legislator who agrees to sponsor the bill. Thursday, February 02, 2006
1. What is your favorite season, and why? I suppose late Spring once the pollen is mostly gone and before it gets hot. 2. What is your least favorite season, and why? About this time of year because I don't like being cold. 3. Daylight savings--pro or con? I wish we would stay on it. I saw this http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/02/02/defining.hooah.ap/index.html on CNN and had to comment. I spent 32 years in the Army and never uttered that stupid word which I believe to be the invention of some complete idiot. It seems to have started in the 82nd Airborne and migrated to the more intelligent parts of the Army where (I gather from the article) it has caused a general decline in IQs. I also managed to retire before the stupid black beret was introduced. A friend scheduled his retirement to avoid the beret only to have his boss buy an early version and insist that he wear it at his retirement ceremony. Wednesday, February 01, 2006
Didn't watch the SOU speech last night. Did practice modal scales for two hours. Do have pain in both hands. Will spend the day working a proposal. Tuesday, January 31, 2006
We are back to writing proposals at a frantic pace. With two big ones we expect to win tied up in court (don't ask), we keep working to get something. The traffic report has been good for the last few days. I don't know if a lot of people are vacationing or what, but the amount of traffic has been down and the folks who are out are driving better than usual for Huntsville. Monday, January 30, 2006
I never knew I could appreciate rain as much as I did the one we got Saturday night. I worked preparing for my new paving block walkway Saturday afternoon and don't think I would have liked doing it again on Sunday but the rain saved me. If you haven't worked with Alabama red clay, you cannot really appreciate how hard it is, or sticky or just plain uncooperative. I think I should have moved to Sand Mountain. |
