Some times I think I am getting old or at least losing my mind. Last night was my weekly music group and I went by to pick up a guy who no longer drives at night. I always get out and help him load his amp and guitar. Last night I got out, loaded the amp and discovered I had locked the door with teh key in the ignition and the lights on. Lee had to drive 15 miles over to bring my extra key. She was not happy!
On the good side, I played fairly well and made it home without killing myself. Of course, Lee may kill me tonight when I get home from work.

1) What is the most important thing you ever forgot to do? I forgot our 8th wedding anniversary and went bowling. Married people will understand why it was important.
2) Do you try to keep yourself organized through a routine so you don’t have to rely so much on remembering things, or do you follow a more open approach based on what you want to get done during the day and try to actually think things through? I depend on randon synapse firings.
3) What do you have the most trouble remembering--people’s names, how to get places, or important dates? Names. I blame that on 30 years of reading everything I needed to know about a person from their uniform; name, rank, where they were assigned and about how long they had been in the Army, Navy, Marine Coprps or Air Force.

Retirement Update and Other Trivia2005 wasn't a great year for the old retirement portfolio. It would have done better converted to coins and buried in the backyard. It looks like a few more years at the grindstone are in order.
I start real music lessons today and I am really looking forward to learning something from a professional. The instructor makes his living teaching guitar, banjo, mandolin and bass. I think I'll concentrate on the guitar and learning to read music and maybe take a second lesson each week on different instruments. My goal this year is to become a decent guitarist and get better on the bass plus learn a few tunes on the fiddle. Now if I could just figure out how to spend most of my day on music rather than work, all would be good.

New Year's resolution: At least one new post a day. So far, so good! Except for missing the first two days.
