Well, after looking over Terry's comments in the post below, it looks like I am not well enough to be blogging. The inability to count to three when someone gives you the answer ahead of time may be an indication of rapidly advancing something.
Good thing my retirement planning has me able to retire by 100 or I might not be able to keep it up.

Thursday Three
Fastest on land: Probably about 150 in a 71 Pantera that had around 600 HP. I don't know exactly how fast I was going because the owner kept the speedometer disconnected so he could eventally sell it as a low mileage car. Gear ratios and tachometer said about 150. I do know that my employee who was the passenger refused to ever again ride with me. I saw 140 in a couple of Porsches and Mercedes. I had no interest in going faster in the early 911s and the Mercedes topped out.
On the Water: I seem to remember riding on an outboard once when I was a kid. Let's say about 20 MPH.
In the air: Whatever the max is on a 747, something around 600 I think.
Bonneville, although I would prefer an SCCA race week if I were going to see any racing.

Sorry about the lack of posts. I have been really busy at work and running back and forth to doctors over a pain I have had for about six months. Last week I got a steroid injection in my back which seems to have stopped most of the pain. Apparently I have an inflamed nerve or at least a very angry one, and it has been giving me fits. I haven't much felt like doing anything that I do not have to do.
On a bright note, I started a low carb regimen two weeks ago and have lost 15 pounds. I can't see what the big deal is with low carb since with the exceptions of pecan pie and biscuits, I eat the things I like. I am looking to lose 30 pounds which will put me back at my fighting weight, literally, since it will be what I weighed the last time I served in a troop unit. I am not following any particular diet, I am just avoiding refined sugars and starches.
