Okay, this week's Thursady Three I can answer since I had several Summer jobs.

The best Summer job? That's easy. The one that didn't involve chicken houses, cotton, corn or construction, the four C's of my youth. One Summer, I was a cook in the college cafeteria. I cook breakfast, all weekend meals and got paid three hours for every hour I worked. I think the hourly pay was $.75, but the hours were from 4:30 to 7:30 AM and weekends except for Sunday afternoon. The pay was work-study and untaxed so it was a pretty good deal. Did I mention that the cafeteria was air-conditioned?

Worst Summer Job: This was a hard choice since I wanted the extra points, but I have to pick the asphalt paving crew over the chicken house cleaning. My first day on the job, we paved two mile of a two lane road in over 100 degree heat. I was tougher than Terry since I made it through the day and back for the rest of the Summer. The next Summer, I passed on the opportunity to be a road constructor and became a cook.

The ideal job: I never knew it until I saw the movie "Three Days of the Condor", but my ideal Summer or any other job would be as a "reader".

I think I should get the extra points for mentioning cotton, chicken houses and corn.
