I have a new granddaughter in Oregon.
Still waiting to hear about the three proposals mentioned in the last post. I love this business.

Fun stuff this week. We are finishing three big proposals and killing whole rainforests printing them.
I have told our employees that I am going to insist that we cut the workday to 12 hours once the proposals are shipped.
All heart! That's me.

Jim Smith asked me about playing the fiddle since I have been learning to play the mandolin. I can actually play "Faded Love" so that you would know what it is supposed to be. As I told Jim, I have reached the point of being able to fool the uninitiated into thinking that I can play the mandolin and banjo. Anyone with an ear for music would probably not agree but I do have a couple of fans. I thhink they are deaf or hard-of-hearing but I;ll take what I can get.I have become a fairly decent country/bluegrass bassist although I would not be comfortable playing publically. My music group doesn't frown nearly as much as in the past.
The old retirement plan is about where everyone else's is given the state of the markets. My company is doing okay and we are in a good market for our products so I expect some growth this year.
Like Mr. Possum, I do not have time for daily blogging and forget for long periods but keep stopping in. Who knows what may be here.

So last week for lack of anything better to do, I had my left rotator cuff repaired. Turned out to be much less damage than expected so the Doc filed off some bone spurs, cleaned up some arthritis damage and put an single suture in the cuff at 12 o'clock.
Nothing to write home about, but then the three holes in my shoulder look sort of like three bullet holes. Feel sort of like what I think three bullet holes would also.

Lots of things going on. I have my first grandchild, Elly, who is 4 months old and lives in California.
My music is going well. I am working on the mandolin for the next few months. After two years of faking bass playing in the band, I almost know how it should be played. Now if I can only put knowledge to practice.
Retirement is not likely for a few years. I don't think I will have to work to 100 but retirement next week is not in the works.

Retirement update: Well the June markets certainly rearranged my thinking about retiring.
